A catalog of places & spaces I’ve been within the last month that made me feel alive. In no particular order…
A busy street in Washington D.C. (Crowds of people passed me with no regard.)
In an ice cold body of water (The sun was rising.)
A hammock in a quiet back yard (Wind chimes sounded in the distance.)
In the arms of the one I love (Her warm smile welcomed me home.)
On the sidewalk in a small town I’d never seen before (Trees swayed back and forth.)
A dark alleyway in the rain after a concert (I did not have an umbrella. Raindrops cascaded down my face.)
An airplane filled to the brim (Footsteps quietly rumbled down the aisle.)
A busy coffee shop (I made friends with 3 older men that I respect, deeply.)
A bunk bed in the back of a passenger van (I was gently tossed left and right.)
A hotel bed after a long day of travel (I was thankful to be out of the passenger van.)
Standing in the sun (I admired the orange hues coming through my eyelids.)
An Irish pub 45 minutes outside of Boston (My 3 friends and I were the only ones in the entire building.)
A comedy club in Austin (Laughter connected strangers.)
An old theater (I admired my friend who gathered a crowd in the name of art.)
My bedroom (I sat on a piece of furniture that I created.)
A rooftop in a downtown area (Cars hummed below me.)
A restaurant with friends, new and old (I basked in gratefulness.)
In the middle of an intersection in New York (I was reminded that I’m small.)
A cobblestone pathway shaded by trees (Crisp air forced its way through my hair.)
My living room (I realized that life moves quickly.)
A parking lot at sunset (I said goodbye to a friend.)
On a stage, hiding behind a light fixture (I observed joy in the faces of strangers.)
In a small green room (I shared laughter with friends.)
In my car, on the highway (I felt God.)
