Installment 48 · Jan 28, 2024

I'm currently writing this installment this to see how quickly I can finish a newsletter while I wait for some food that I just ordered for takeout in the waiting area of a burger place.

It's 2:10pm on Sunday, January 28th.

Whatever I've written by the time my food is finished cooking is what will send for this installment. This is less of a thought out concept, and more of a testament to how sometimes life is fast and we don't have much time to think. But we still need to act. We still have to create.

Life has been eventful lately. Within the past 30 days, I've begun a new business adventure with some friends, Immersed myself in community and enjoyed the laughter of those around me several times, and grown closer to the love of my life at what feels like an exponentially fast pace – thanks to some very heartfelt conversations.

Life is full of rich moments if we pay attention. Life is fast paced. It's exciting even in the mundane if we allow it to be. Here I am, waiting for a cheeseburger in the middle of a restaurant racing against the clock trying to delineate to you, the reader, about how exhilarating life can be – all while the awareness of being interrupted by life moving on without my consent exponentially grows more and more evident as every second passes by.

If anything, this could serve as a testament to how easy it is to create something of value with no plan, no deep thought, and no real approach. The value comes from the action, not the end result.

My food could be ready at any moment. I don’t know when my number will be called, but I do know that it's important to foster the discipline of creating. Even if time is not permitting – we need to make time for the things we value. Even in the midst of the clock ticking.

Sometimes I think

About

The Newsletter is a publication intended to inform and encourage deeper thought surrounding art, design, creativity, and day-to-day life. Written for (eventual) physical publishing in real time with weekly/bi-weekly installments.

It also allows me space to create something regularly without straining any creative muscle like a larger project normally would.

It serves everyone equally. It serves you images, thoughts, and information. It serves me a deadline and a creative outlet. And it serves your inbox another item to sort. The Newsletter is weekly and biweekly depending on what my schedule looks like.
